The Riverbank Arena, located within the Olympic Park, will be a temporary structure with two pitches. One pitch will have spectator seating and the other will be used as a warm-up area. The facility will also be used for Paralympic Football. After the Games, the Hockey Centre will be relocated to Eton Manor, just north of the Olympic Park.
The first pitch was unveiled in October of 2011 and surprised many with its unique colors. The playing field area is blue, which is meant to help the yellow ball be more visible to spectators. Additionally, the pitch is surrounded by pink, one of the theme colors for the Summer Games.
